The Ombudspersons’ main tasks are to assemble a team of Trust Persons for the conference ahead and to develop the Awareness Concept further. In order to ensure the Trust Persons are qualified for the conference, the Ombudspersons work together with external partner organisations, so they can receive appropriate training. Part of enhancing the Awareness Concept is the Female Empowerment Panel, which was first held in 2024 after the Opening Ceremony. The Ombudspersons are responsible for the organisation as well as hosting the event. 

They also serve as Trust Persons to the Inner Circle and can, of course, be directly addressed by any participant of the conference before, during or after OLMUN in case of whatever issue to provide quick and decisive support. The Ombudspersons (as well as the Trust Persons) are under the obligation of secrecy, therefore they are not allowed to pass down any information to anyone else. They are also not allowed to take any action without your consent (unless there is imminent danger to yourself or others), to ensure you get the help you feel comfortable with.

The implementation of the Awareness Concept, including the Trust Persons began in 2023, led by then Treasurer Marleen Schmidt and Secretary General Amélie Vocke. After the conference, the OLMUN e. V. created the positions of two Ombudspersons, who are directly elected by the main assembly, the same as the Secretariat. Since then, there have been two official Ombudspersons annually.
